“Resistance and Resilience,” January 22, 2017, Rev. Kendyl Gibbons

Our assignment – as I take it, is to dig in and survive. This is not the hour of our ascendancy, but we still have work to do; resistance, and resilience….So how do we practice resistance and resilience? How do we keep each other alive and sane and willing to keep on keeping on? I think of Harriet Tubman, leading runaway slaves through the wilderness, saying, “If you hear the dogs, keep going. If you see the torches in the woods, keep going. If there’s shouting after you, keep going. Don’t ever stop. Keep going. If you want a taste of freedom, keep going.”
