“The Urgent Need for Liberal Religion” with Rev. Lane Campbell
When the dominant voice of religion can be quite conservative in mainstream media, we need strong liberal voices of faith to speak out. This Sunday, we will look at how liberalism has been defined by Unitarians, Universalists, Unitarian Universalists, and other faith perspectives. What does it mean to be a progressive voice in the here and now? On the Sunday before our primary election, let us gather as a community to strengthen our feeling and knowing about what it means to be a liberal person of faith.
Rev. Lane is a lifelong Unitarian Universalist, who just graduated with a Masters of Divinity degree from Starr King School for the Ministry in Berkeley, California, finishing an internship with Shawnee Mission UU Church. Originally from the southeastern coast of Connecticut, her passions include art, literature, embodied theology, and ritual.
