“Struggling for the Affordable Care Act” with Barb Shelly
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare) is set for full implementation in 2014. Some states, however, including Kansas and, in effect, Missouri, have opted out of setting up the requisite health care exchanges [that offer consumers an Internet-based marketplace for purchasing private plans]. Barb Shelly, columnist, editorial writer, and blogger for the Kansas City Star, will discuss the struggles with getting these and other provisions of the act in place for Kansas and Missouri.
