Service: “Armed to the Teeth and Praying For Peace” with Rev. Sarah Oglesby-Dunegan
May 28, 2017 @ 11:15 am - 12:15 pm
Rev. Sarah’s husband and aunt experienced the same fatal shooting at an elementary school in Goddard, KS. Now, they are activists trying to keep guns off college campuses and to gain better control of where and how guns show up in our communities. This spring she took five high school students to the UU United Nations Office Spring Seminar “Arm In Arm: Interfaith Action to Disarm Our Planet.” From the interpersonal to the international, join us in exploring violence and civil resistance/non-violence as a spiritual and religious dilemma we must solve before the doomsday clock strikes midnight. Rev. Sarah has been the minister of UU Fellowship of Topeka since August 2014, currently serves on the board of Kansas Interfaith Topeka and chairs the task force on gun violence through the Topeka Center for Peace and Justice called “Heeding God’s Call to End Gun Violence.”
