Service: “The Heritage of Trauma” with Rev. Kendyl Gibbons
February 25 @ 11:15 am - 12:15 pm
Our physical and emotional coping mechanisms enable human beings to survive an incredible variety of traumatic experiences, from wars and natural disasters to intimate violence and cultural racism. Yet those mechanisms are not always well understood, or appreciated, and those who do survive devastating events don’t always receive the most helpful care or responses from others.
From PTSD veterans to sex trafficked women to abused children, how can knowing more about trauma make us a more caring and compassionate society? We will welcome our new Chalice Lighters at the beginning of this service, and the choir will sing.
