Sign up now for the first Annual All Souls Progressive Garden Tour
Sign Up is Now Closed
We may not be able to do the gathering events that we are used to this fall, due to the local increase in COVID cases, but we can try something new. We know it’s safer to be outside, so let’s enjoy the gardens that many of us have been working on while staying home. On Saturday, September 19, four All Souls homes will open their grounds for a tour. Four groups of up to six people will rotate around these gardens, spending half an hour at each admiring the end of summer sights. We’ll start at 10:30 and end around 2:00, with time built in for a lunch break. The following Saturday, September 26, another group of four gardens will host. You can sign up for either date, or both.
This will be a fundraiser to help offset the loss of rental income and the auction: $20 per person per date, children $5.
The following gardens will be included
- Ginger Powers
- Kendyl & Mark Gibbons
- All Souls U U Church
- Kol Ami Manheim Community garden
- Kaufman Memorial Garden
- Anita Gorman Discovery Center
- Anthony Edwards/Scott Henze
- Tracy Van Quaethem
- Margaret Drinkwine
- Jean Patterson
Bonus tour! 2 pm-4 pm, Both 9/19 and 9/26 Lamar & Dixie Hicks
In order to maintain social distancing, etc. enrollment is limited to 24 each weekend.
Although snacks and liquids will be available, you may want to bring your own snacks or a sack lunch.
The last garden for everyone will be at Lamar and Dixie Hicks. Since they are so far north we do not expect everyone will try to go there and also expect that those who do will arrive at various times so that distancing will not be a problem.
If you have questions or concerns, please contact Chuck Downing, 913-236-5914
Deadline for signing up is Monday, September 14.
